998S, whats in it without buying any parts?

This 998S was a test to see what gains could be had from adjusting things only, not buying a single part.

The plan was to adjust cams to 105/109 and then re-map the stock 5.9 ecu to fit.

Both inlet cams were found at 114, one exhaust at 114 and one at 109. That rendered an advance on the inlets of 9 degrees so I was hoping to see some mid improvement at least.

To see the gains the bike was dynoed before. It was bogging a lot from lugging it at 4000, also the idle was thin and unsteady, that we had to fix and then the general mapping routine. After a few hours in the dyno it was idling light and steady, no hesitation at wot and it acted smooth on roll-on.

The adjustments should make it feel like a quite eager bike. Top end is moved down a good 1000rpm and the midrange really came through.

Hooked up for mapping
