748 Bip, cam timing and Mapping


748 Bip, a true classic. As most Ducatis it improves from timing the cams and correct mapping. Pretty impressive power from a 750 with standard cams!

The cams on this one were quite off, which was to no surprice, the cams on the bip is often way off from factory. It had one intake cam at 129 and the other one at 123 degrees centerline. The were adjusted to 110 moving 13 and 19 degrees, I smell free lunch!

I didn't have a chance to dyno it before timing the cams. Mapped through making a new chip.

If you compare it to a 916 Bip original you get a good picture of the bottom and midrange, at 5300 there they are just a few hp's apart, quite good from an engine 22% smaller!
